Editor’s Note: December

When the world is becoming overwhelming—there is a test in every class, the news is variations of the same depressing story every night, and college admission decisions are coming out—only a miracle can make things right.  Thankfully, that miracle is here: Christmas!

Christmas is the time when we get a break from the world and are lost in the centuries-old story; Christ was born as a baby boy to save us from our sins.  Not only do we enjoy time with family, full nights of sleep, and unwrapping those much-desired presents, but we remember that God shows us mercy, the greatest gift of all.

This edition of The Insquirer will help you through the holidays with Christmas craft ideas by Lauren Hoekstra and “Winter Essentials” by Gabbie Eisma, and a helpful book review by Hayden Hill.  We invite you to celebrate our school through the beginning of the basketball season, the Christmas Pops Concert, the International Club, musical accomplishments, and the reminiscent “Top of the Month” by Anthony Hoffman.  If you are seeking guidance for the new year, take a look at Brianna Deppe’s advice for the Freshmen containing valuable pointers from students and staff.  Also included in The Insquirer: a special edition article by Mr. Tameling.

So sleep in until 11:00 a.m., bake some cookies, read The Insquirer, and thank God for the many blessings given to us.

We hope you enjoy this issue.
