PE 5 did a project where they had to build boats with only 2 rolls of duct tape and a dishwasher cardboard box. There were seven teams racing against each other, and each team had to create one boat for the race. Some of the team names were Baywatch, the White Water Rafters, and the Santa Sailors.
I interviewed one of the students in the class to get some information on the topic. The hardest part of the project, according to the student, was making sure they used their tape sparingly but effectively. But the struggles were worth it to get to race against other teams.
Overall, the whole project was very fun. It was cool to see people come up with new ideas for boat designs and make them a reality. Being able to race a boat that you made and have a winner was very fun and rewarding for the students. It sounds like it was a challenging project but was worth it, in the end, to be able to race your very own cardboard boat.
